A Strategic Partnership of Fujitsu and NetApp to Support the Dynamic Data Management Infrastructure Market

Fujitsu and NetApp announced today to expand its global partnership to deliver new enhancements to Fujitsu’s storage solution. With NetApp technology, the product line, ETERNUS storage solution, can now provide a data management infrastructure. The market needs continuous innovation to support ever-changing business models, and this one partnership attempts to tame the data management needs facing the market.

NetApp Hybrid Storage Systems (FAS Hybrid Flash)

An overarching storage infrastructure of NetApp and Fujitsu allows more flexible, cost-effective storage infrastructure and is more scalable in dynamic data centers. Many enterprises today have various infrastructures coexist within one business enterprise. Multiple applications and services run in different functional storage silos. Consequently, these issues contribute to inefficient utilization in storage capacity, new development deployments, and other cloud computing needs. Fujitsu and NetApp have combined their expertise to solve these issues by creating the Dynamic Infrastructures. This joint effort enables enterprises to integrate servers, storage systems, and network technologies. Many enterprises already benefit from this innovation, which includes the capabilities of extraordinary scalability.

According to their research, “In environments based on server virtualization, NetApp can reduce the required storage space by 35% in existing third-party storage systems and by 50% in NetApp storage systems.”

The NetApp Storage Efficiency Effect

“Fujitsu has been a strategic partner for NetApp for more than two decades, and we are delighted to expand this relationship further. This collaboration combined with Fujitsu’s broader Digital Transformation strategy offers customers a comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions, targeted at critical business applications, as well as emerging workloads across edge, core, and multi-clouds.”

Comment from Kenichi Sakai, Corporate Executive Officer, Senior Vice President and Head of Infrastructure System Business Unit, Fujitsu Limited

“To succeed in digital transformation, it is important to create new value from all the data you have and make it the core of your business. We see this enhanced strategic partnership with NetApp as a critical step in supporting digital transformation by enabling customers to effectively manage and leverage their data.”

To further support the global digital transformation efforts, Fujitsu and NetApp plan to introduce Hybrid cloud and HPC, and AI shortly.
